Toast & Jam Wraps Up its 13th Season!

We'll be back in February 2013

This year's 6 weeks of Toast & Jam continued the tradition of music, camaraderie and great food! Most of our favorite performers came back to play with us again, and we picked up a few new musicians who shared their talent with us.

Thanks to our host Dale Campbell. And sponsors Ken Bryant and Eric Matthews, owners of the Brickyard Pub & BBQ. Victor Garcia (Woodshed Music) and Tony Petrocelli (Lewiston Music) who donated a new guitar and gig bag that was raffled off the final evening of the 2012 season. The lucky winner was Dave Thurman. This is the third year for Tony and Vic’s generous sponsorship. Vic, David and Tony are shown in the photo above.

This year’s shows were videotaped for broadcast on LCTV, and new episodes are currently being shown on LCTV. (Time Warner Cable channel 20: 12am Sat; 1am Tues; 9:30am Wed; and 1:30pm Thursday)
Viewers of the show will notice a giant leap in the quality of the sound and video thanks to some new recording equipment purchased by Dale and Cataract Printing Service.

 

Singer-songwriter, Dale Campbellhosted the 6 week series of open mic entertainment which was open to singers, musicians, poets, actors, dancers, comics and performance artists. Campbell's calling card boasts a long history of open mics and he can be heard regularly on WJJL 1440AM, "Just Me and the Dog"  and "Dale Campbell - All About Town".

 

Performers sign up as they arrive, and play on a first-come, first-served basis. Most of the people who perform at open mics are not professionals. They do it for the love of it, and part of the fun for
the audience is never knowing what to expect! "It's a great atmosphere." says Campbell. "By the end of the night, it feels like a sing-along at a friend's house. Some performers are really good, others are just there to have fun. And everyone LOVES the great food at the Brickyard!".

 

Highlights from Toast & Jam are featured throughout the year on Lockport Community TV. Performers are invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy a moment in the spotlight.

 

Toast & Jam is presented by Lewiston Council on the Arts and sponsored by Brickyard Pub & BBQ, Lockport Community TV (LCTV), Cataract Printing, Lewiston Music and Vic's Woodshed Music.
